This all-purpose band name is basically my solo project—if by solo you mean me and a bunch of amazing collaborators, including Matt Pence and Scott Danbom from Centro-Matic, Howard Draper of Little Grizzly and Okkervil River, Peter Buck of R.E.M., Steve Fisk of Steve Fisk, Jon Auer of the Posies, Matt Southworth of The Capillaries, Gavin Guss of Tubetop, Michael Shilling of The Long Winters, and lord only knows who the hell else. The Mortal Enemies record, Misanthropology, produced by me and Matt Pence at the Echo Lab in occasional sessions stretching across the last year is basically done, and suitable for framing.
