Posies fans,
A large number of bands/performers have contacted me recently wanting to
submit a track for possible inclusion on “Beautiful Escape: The Ultimate
Tribute to The Posies.” Well, now is your chance! I have been blown away by
the high level of interest in this Posies Tribute, and I wanted to give more
people around the world a chance to be a part of it.
You can see on our profile the current list of songs that have already been
selected for inclusion. If you are interested in submitting a track to the
Album, please contact me at burningskyrecords@gmail.com, and let me know
which track you are interested in covering. I am still expecting a number of
specific tracks to be finished shortly by other bands/performers who are
supposed to finish their tracks soon. I can give you guidance as to which
tracks may represent the best opportunity to be a part of the final release.
Also, my plan all along has been for “Beautiful Escape: The Ultimate Tribute
to The Posies” to be a 2-CD release. However, if we get enough great tracks,
there is a chance that it could be expanded to 3-CDs.
The one catch? The absolute “drop dead” date that I need to receive the
tracks by is Monday, December 17th, 2007. No tracks will be accepted after
that date.
Please send any questions as well as any finished tracks to
burningskyrecords@gmail.com.
Cheers, and best of luck!
Alan and the Burning Sky Records Posies Tribute Album Team

Ken has released a split 7″ with Luis Francesco Arena (Ken covers his song “Waterlilies and Creatures,” and Luis covers “The Lover’s Hymn”) – to order it, visit Flat Lux Records. There are only 500 copies.
On the tour page, there are many new shows up – The Posies are doing two acoustic shows in Seattle & Bellingham in May; both they and Big Star are playing a festival in Norway this August, and Ken will be touring Europe through the end of March.
Jon Auer’s solo album ‘Songs from the Year of Our Demise’ will be released on May 2nd in the US, and it is now available to pre-order from Pattern 25 (both US & non-US) for $14. You can also get an autographed copy before the release date – follow the link above to place an order.
In addition, here is an interview Jon did with an Australian paper recently.
Pattern25.com has two tracks from Jon’s forthcoming solo album Songs For The Year Of Our Demise up for download, and they are streaming at his official Myspace as well.
